Venue Description

The Stable cottage is a single story 4 star Gold rated holiday cottage with a W2 accessibility rating. Access to the Stable is via its own private drive and a level access into the door 4 Star Gold rating Lounge & Kitchen The spacious open plan lounge has wall mounted tv and electric fire. The kitchen is fitted with electric cooker, microwave, washing machine, dish washer and fridge-freezer and is fully equipped with all necessary equipment and utensils. An archway from the lounge leads to the family bathroom, with bath and shower over, and the two double bedrooms both fitted with wall mounted, remote controlled tv/dvd with teletext. The Master bed room has a king size bed that can also be set up as child width singles. The second bedroom has a super king size bed that can be set up as twin beds as required. (Please state your preference when booking). Wall mounted electric hair dryers are fitted in both bedrooms. The master bedroom has been specially adapted to suit both able bodied and disabled guests with en-suite wet room and there is a panic alarm in both wet room and disabled bedroom to summon help. The central heating is oil fired. Travel cot, high chair, safety gate and shower chair are all available, on request, at no extra cost. Electricity, heating, bed linen, bath and hand towels are all complimentary.

Accessibility

The Stable has a large open plan, spacious lounge allowing ease of movement for wheelchairs. The entrance door and the door into the disabled bedroom are 850 mm wide, the door to the second bedroom is 740 mm wide. The walls are light in colour with contrasting doors and frames. The flat screen tv and electric fire are wall mounted to reduce obstacles. The lounge area has fitted carpet and a comfortable lounge suite, a 'Parker knoll' style arm chair and a small nest of tables. There is good overhead lighting together with standard lamp and table lamps. A tiled kitchen table and pine chairs complete the furniture in this room. One of the bedrooms has en suite wet room. This is specifically designed for the disabled with low level wash basin, raised toilet, adjustable 'rainfall' shower with hot water limiter, shower chair and all the necessary grab rails. The en suite door is 850 mm wide and there is a panic alarm to alert family members and also the owners. The door into family bathroom in the Stable is 750 mm wide and has full sized bath with shower over, toilet and washbasin. Heated towel rails and shaver points are in both the wet room and the bathroom. The Stable has two ground floor double bedrooms. One bedroom is specifically designed for disabled guests. The doorways are 850mm wide and there is space around the bed for a wheelchair. The wardrobe has low level hanging space and there is a desk with a space under for wheelchair access. The beds are zip & link so can be presented as child width twin or king size at the guests request and we also have bed raisers if required. There is a panic alarm alongside the bed which alerts both family members and the owners. There is a talking alarm clock, hair dryer and wall mounted tv with DVD. This room has an en suite wet room as described in the 'bathroom' section above. The second bedroom can also be arranged with super king or twin beds to suit the visitor, with access from both sides. It has a full sized wardrobe and chest of drawers, wall mounted tv with DVD and wall mounted hair dryer. The kitchen is spacious with a tiled floor. There is a small cupboard under the sink which can be removed for wheelchair access. All crockery & equipment can be stored in the low level units as required. There is washing machine, dishwasher and fridge freezer.
