Venue Description

The family-owned and operated Marsham Court Hotel started life as an Edwardian hotel, whose ballroom hosted tea dances for the town’s ‘great and good’. Situated on Bournemouth's East Cliff, we have excellent transport links and stunning sea views. Still bursting with character, it is now a 95-bedroom full-service hotel with nine meetings, conference and function suites which are utilised by both the local community and guests visiting from across Europe and the rest of the world. The Marsham Court provides a traditional family welcome to all guests including, wedding parties, disabled guests and businesses looking for the perfect conference venue. Our professional staff are considered part of the Marsham Court family and this is evident throughout the hotel.

Accessibility

An accessible lift was installed at the front of the hotel in 2022 meaning that the hotel is now accessible from both the front and rear entrances. We have several disabled parking bays which are bookable for blue badge holders and free for guests who have booked overnight accommodation directly with the hotel. Day guests can also book a space free of charge. Our reception, bar and restaurant are all on the ground floor with level access. All but 2 function rooms have level access. There is a disabled toilet on the ground floor plus a newly installed (November 2021) Changing Places toilet and shower. 2 lifts service all floors in the hotel - 1 is large enough for a mobility scooter. We have 5 accessible bedrooms and a mix of wet rooms and walk-in showers. All of our accessible bedrooms also have removable hoists and profiling beds. Sensory room fitted in November 2021. Outside terraces are level and a ramp installed to ease access to the pool area for wheelchair users. There is a disabled changing room and toilet poolside and an i-swim hoist available for use with a shuffleboard if required. A Beach wheelchair is available for guests to use free of charge but we do require a security deposit in case of damage. It has both beach and forest wheels.

Our accessible toilet and our Changing Places toilet and shower are both on the Ground Floor of the hotel. Overnight guests have complimentary access to the Changing Places.

The beach is open for dogs off lead from 1st October to 30th April. There are also several parks around the town where dogs can be walked off lead. Meyrick Park is the closest of these but Queens Park is also only a short distance away.

We are a dog-friendly hotel (Winner of the Dorset Tourism Awards Dog-Friendly Business of the Year 2020). We currently have 9 dog-friendly bedrooms (2 of which are also accessible rooms).
