Venue Description

At the Manchester Academy, we are committed to ensuring that all customers have an enjoyable time at our shows as well as making our venue physically accessible and welcoming. Inclusivity is at the heart of what we do, which is why we have been awarded Silver Standard by Attitude Is Everything. We are proud to host four venues; Manchester Academy, Academy 2, Academy 3, and Club Academy. All are a part of the University of Manchester Students' Union. Ranging from 450 capacity to 2500, we host a varied programme of events throughout the year including music, comedy, conferencing, and multi-venue festivals.

Accessibility

Absolutely - all four of our venues are accessible for disabled visitors. Manchester Academy has a purpose-built viewing balcony, with lift access. Academy 2, Academy 3, and Club are within the Students' Union building which is also fully accessible. All our venues have step-free access. Please contact the venue for further information if required.

Toilets

Manchester Academy has a disabled toilet on the ground floor, and on the first floor by the viewing balcony. Manchester Academy 2, 3 and Club Academy all have disabled toilets close by. There is one on each floor of the building. None of our disabled toilets require a radar key. All have emergency alarms.

Staff

Our staff are trained by Attitude is Everything, as well as with Relay UK for phone conversations. They are also trained with using hearing loops.

Anywhere outside the venue. Please be aware that the venue is located on Oxford Road which is a busy bus route.

Other assistance dog facilities

Manchester Academy welcomes customers who need to bring an assistance dog to the venue. We ask that you make us aware of this and any additional needs for the dog so that we can set up the access area accordingly. We may ask for proof that the guide dog is registered with an organisation that is a member of Assistance Dogs UK when you apply for access.
