Overview
I was booked in for my first ever stay at Leuchie House for 11 days in June. Although I had been looking forward to it for months, in truth I was both nervous and anxious as to what to expect. I need not have worried. All the staff were very understanding, and their friendliness and desire to help at every concern I had, quickly made me feel as if I were at a home from home. The accommodation and ambience of the place was designed to be peaceful and soothing, and I quickly felt both relaxed and safe. My bedroom and toilet/shower area were first class and easy to navigate in my wheelchair. The food and choices were exceptional and with 3 meals per day I was well catered for. The daily activities were very worthwhile and interesting and by participating I felt great improvement in my overall mental health and happiness. There was always something to look forward to each day. However, the most rewarding aspect of my stay were the staff. Be they catering, nurses, carers, voluntary. They always made time for me to help or talk and I never felt that I was a burden. I thoroughly recommend it!
