Venue Description
The fascinating Lakeland Motor Museum nestles in the picturesque Leven Valley, at Backbarrow, close to the southern tip of Lake Windermere. A diverse and unique road transport collection of some 30,000 exhibits assembled over a period of almost 50 years is thoughtfully displayed alongside many non-motoring additions, in state-of-the-art premises with a beautiful riverside setting. This thought provoking and thoroughly enjoyable attraction, with VisitEngland, VAQAS (Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme) accreditation, provides a perfect, whatever the weather, all year venue certain to entertain and enthral all ages.
Accessibility
Entrance is accessed by short ramps with handrails at two heights. External door sizes used throughout the premises with disabled access toilets to both Museum and Cafe. Further ramps inside Museum and lift to first floor with automated doors. Hearing loop at Musuem reception.
