Venue Description
Killamarsh Active has had a major refurbishment & reopened in October 2022. The site consists of an open plan reception, cafe & library area, changing facilities, a Changing Places facility, it has a dedicated spin studio and a multi functional studio for fitness classes, martial arts, performing arts & anything else. The facility has an 80 station multi floor fitness suite with access to floors via steps or lifts and also ramped areas within the gym for floor to floor transfer,the gym also has accessible equipment for wheelchair users. The facility houses a large soft play area with seating, which also has SEN sessions the first Sunday in each month 3-5pm The facility has a four court sports hall which has a full range of activities from the usual badminton, netball, basketball, walking football, kurling, indoor bowls and much more. Outside the facility has a large 3G football pitch, however this is only accessible via steps, also there is a free to use skate park which is due to be refurbished early 2023. Within the facility it also has two squash courts which are easily accessible. The facility has a large free car park with long & short stay areas with disabled bays & entrance into the facility is flat

The facility entrance is flat from the car park, there are automatic wide entrance doors, internally to get to some other floor areas there is a lift.

Toilets
The Changing Places facility is open to anyone who needs or wants to use it, within the room is a toilet, movable bed, shower, sink, privacy screen & moveable hoist. The access is via a radar key or a key can be asked for at reception.
Staff
The centre staff have ongoing training to meet and greet a range of customer, this training is ongoing. The staff are friendly and welcoming and will always try and assist customers whatever their needs are.

Other assistance dog facilities
We currently don't have any specific toileting areas for assistance dogs or water bowls, but we would certainly organise a water bowl if required & could advise on areas for dogs to be walked for toileting.
