Overview
Loved this place! Great to see and hear about the Household Cavalry throughout the ages and best bits definitely trying uniform on and seeing the horses in their actual real stables.
Transport & Parking
We had been at Westminster that morning so had come across after that - that's a wheelchair accessible station on the Jubilee Line. Not sure what the Blue Badge parking provisions nearby are..
Access
Generally great - there are cobbles at the start of the tour but they soon give way to tiled access. The Museum is all on one level. The exhibits are at a good height. There is a free audio guide if you would like it. You're able to try on kit which is a genius idea! And the best bit of all - the window into the real horses stable.
Toilets
I didn't use them but my pal did - said that they were absolutely spotless. There is a ramp to access the accessible loo from the shop.
Staff
Amazing! We visited as part of Disabled Access Day - the staff on the front desk knew all about it and were very helpful. There was a volunteer in the stables room who was very knowledgable and welcoming and was also the person who helped you try on uniform.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
A real gem of a museum - will definitely be recommending to lots more people. And to top it all off we caught the Changing of the Guard too which happens right outside the door - another great reason for visiting!
