Venue Description

We provide free hire of mobility scooters and wheelchairs for visits to High Wycombe Town Centre. Our scooters and wheelchairs are for people who have a temporary or permanent mobility issue. To use our equipment you will need to register with us and will need to bring a form of ID that shows your address. We'll show you how to use the scooter or wheelchair - they are designed to be pretty straightforward. There is no charge for registering or using our service, we rely on donations from our supporters - every penny is welcome!

Accessibility

We are on the ground floor of the Eden Shopping Centre adjacent to Cafe Nero. We have level access into the shop with automatic doors and places to sit. We have an accessible toilet. A hearing loop is available. We are happy to meet you from your car if parked nearby or from the bus station with prior arrangement.

Toilets

The toilet has level access, an outward opening door wide enough for a wheelchair and has grab rails.

Staff

Our staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful and will try their best to make your visit as pleasant as possible. We are happy to phone a taxi or look after your shopping for short periods. Assistance dog facilities

Assistance dog exercise facilities

We welcome assistance dogs. There is a small area of grass verge opposite Shopmobility for a "pit stop". The nearest off-lead walking would be The Rye - our scooters can go as far as the small boathouse/cafe but not onto the grass.

Other assistance dog facilities

We find that small dogs can be trained to ride on the scooters, medium and large dogs walk alongside.
