Heriot-Watt University
Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, EH14 4AS, United Kingdom | 0131 449 5111 | WebsiteVenue Description
This university aims to be access-friendly. There are ramps and lifts to all of the buildings, and disabled toilets on most floors. The student Union and other buildings have automatic doors for accessibility however sometimes these must be closed for high winds unfortunately. The University library has recently added a new more accessible lift rather than a stairlift mechanism that existed there previously. Parking on campus has been an issue for all students this year but plans are being made by the university to improve car-paring over the next few years, accessible car parking is apparently to be improved too. Disabled parking does exist but can be difficult to find as signage needs improved, however staff are very friendly and can often advise on where to go. The Disability Service on Campus and Disabled Students Liberation Group are helpful and active, always hoping to improve services.
