Accessibility

We are a FREE venue open to everybody. Hackney Museum is located on the ground floor of the building, with level access and automatic doors. To enter into the building there is a push button operated door. Security staff can help with entry if needed. We have an accessible toilet and turning spaces within our exhibitions for wheelchair users. We welcome assistance dogs. We have an induction loop at the front desk, please ask if you would like to use it. On request we have a range of chairs to support visitors who need them. We are able to discuss specific needs for visitors and any reasonable adjustments needed in advance - please call 020 8356 3500 or email to discuss your needs.

Toilets

Our accessible toilets are found across from the main entrance of the Museum - please ask Front of House staff to direct you. The closest Changing Places toilets are in Haggerston Park, Britannia Leisure Centre, or Hackney Marshes Centre.

Staff

All staff are friendly and welcoming. Museum staff have had autism friendly training. You will be greeted by front of house team at our main front desk. They are approachable and are here to help visitors. Please ask at the front desk for our range of accessible resources.
