Overview
There is always a warm welcome here. Nothing appears to be too difficult.
Transport & Parking
The venue has ample spaces outside and there is a bus route with a stop just outside the hotel grounds.
Access
It is very easy to get around the inside of the hotel in a Powerchair or manual wheelchair. There is a stairlift for those to get up the stairs and a lift for wheelchair users. Outside there is a steep set of steps up to the hotel however there is an outside lift that you can use. The only drawback is that you need a carer to call the staff to operate it.
Toilets
On the ground floor there is a very large bathroom/toilet and this has amenities for those that require a bed to be changed in the toilet.
Staff
The staff are lovely welcoming and helpful. Note that at the time of our visit, no staff were available overnight when two drunken men tried to enter the hotel by climbing up the drainpipe.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
In the two rooms that are accessible there are many disability tools such as profile beds, they can become linked carer accommodation and there is a hoist. Bathrooms have plenty of space and one room is left transfer and the other is right transfer. Many different types of shower chairs are also available. Doors weren’t too heavy and there were useful wheelchair height grab rails to open and shut the bathroom doors. There was seating throughout with a riser recliner chair too.
