Venue Description
Close to the National Museum of Scotland and the University of Edinburgh, Greyfriars Kirk is a beautiful, landmark building in the heart of the city. It has been a site of worship for 4 centuries and has played a prominent role in many of the most notable chapters of Edinburgh and Scotland's history. Today it is a parish church and a world class concert venue, as well as, an important heritage site. The surrounding Kirkyard is the resting place of many prominent citizens, including James Hutton, Robert Adam, Mary Erskine and Henry Mackenzie.Accessibility
Level access to the Kirk and Museum. Some cobbles on the path through the Kirkyard. Disabled toilets available.

In 2018 the Kirk was awarded the prestigious 4 Star visitor attraction status by the Scottish Tourist Board / Visit Scotland.
