Venue Description

We are FoodCycle, and our vision is to make food poverty, loneliness and food waste a thing of the past for every community. With community dining, week in, week out we feed the hungry and give company to the lonely in our communities; providing delicious meals and great conversation, and using food which would otherwise go to waste. FoodCycle Doncaster Central is our FREE community meal every Tuesday at 12.30 at the Doncaster Baptist Church. No need to book, you can just drop in. We serve a delicious 3 course vegetarian meal alongside teas and coffees. Come and join us!

Accessibility

Entrance through double doors (wide enough for wheelchair access) that give onto Chequer Road. Disabled parking just in front of the church on Chequer Road. We open doors at 12.30 so please do not arrive before then as otherwise you'll have to wait outside. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet. We have seating with the option of asking for a chair with armrests. Volunteers are at hand (wearing a black apron with the FoodCycle logo on it). Please ask them on arrival if you need any assistance. We have about 30 guests every week but the hall is large so the noise is not too overwhelming. Our food is vegetarian. If you have allergies please alert the volunteers asap.

There is an accessible toilet through the hallway. There is a tight corner in the hallway but it is wide enough for a wheelchair. Flat access throughout. The toilet has a hand rail and easy to turn lock and tap.

Staff

Our volunteers can be identified by the black aprons and FoodCycle logos they wear. The Project Leader wears a red t-shirt underneath this black apron. Please approach the volunteers if you need any assistance. We unfortunately do not have a BSL interpreter on site.

Assistance dogs are welcome. We do not have exercise facilities for them unfortunately.

Other assistance dog facilities

We can provide a water bowl for assistance dogs. The nearest toileting area is across the street in the park. A volunteer may be able to help you to reach this.
