For a nice stroll around accessible lakes
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair, Powerchair
Overview
Plenty parking with accessible toilets. Giving access to lovely walks around accessible lakes with flat, mainly tarmac covered paths.
Transport & Parking
We park at the water sports section of the country park (Nene Park) Use postcode PE25UU. It's flat and there is an accessible cafe. It's the starting point for a walk around 3 interlocking lakes
Access
The paths are particularly flat, with one or two minor exceptions in very wet weather. We visit here 2-3 times a year sometimes with a manual chair and sometimes a powerchair.
Toilets
Good. Large and clean
Staff
We haven't met any staff as we don't use the cafe. There seems to be sailing boats for the use of mobility impaired visitors. We haven't tried it. Probably only one day per week. Looks fun.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
We take a picnic and stop somewhere along the route. Take a folding chair or rug for those members of the party who are walking as some of the nicest view points don't have chairs. There is a good website - Search for Ferry meadows, Nene park Peterborough.
