Venue Description

Two fantastic accessible apartments in an amazing Mediterranean location. The apartments are totally wheelchair accessible, ground floor, one level without any steps or barriers. Extra wide doors, free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning and heating. APARTMENT A – 2 bedrooms, sleeps 6 Double bed in each bedroom. Double sofa bed in lounge and single day bed in conservatory. APARTMENT B – 2 bedrooms, sleeps 6 Main bedroom with 2 single beds (including a profiling bed), smaller bedroom with double bed. Double sofa bed in lounge and day bed in conservatory. FACILITIES – Fully equipped kitchen including microwave and dishwasher. Open plan to living room with TV & DVD. Conservatory with comfortable day bed seating and sea views. The wet-room style bathrooms are fully accessible with a roll-in shower, wheeled showerchair and plenty of grab rails. There is a washing machine. Mobility aids can be hired (hoist, profiling bed, mobility scooters and powerchairs, etc). The apartments are within the exclusive Laguna Beach Complex, which has beautiful tropical gardens, shops, hairdresser, bars, restaurant, swimming pools (the outside olympic sized pool has a hoist & one of the pools is covered and heated for winter, also with hoist) and tennis courts. The local lifeguards have a sea-going wheelchair available in summer. We can arrange accessible airport transfers.* THE AREA The complex is situated within Torrox Costa, a coastal town, Eastern Malaga Province. The whole town is very wheelchair friendly, with a long wide flat prom running the length of the resort. There are lots of different bars, restaurants and shops within easy reach and there is a popular weekly street market. Nerja is a 10 minute drive away and Malaga City and Airport are a 45 minute drive away.

Accessibility

Both apartments are ground floor with small, easy-gradient ramp entrances. Access all areas: the apartments are barrier free, without any steps in any rooms. There are extra wide doors, adapted wet-room style bathrooms with roll-in showers, wheeled shower chairs, grab rails both sides of toilet and in shower area. Door opening width 95 cm Bed heights to top of mattresses 48 cm (bed raisers available in Apartment A to raise by a further 10cm), profiling bed 55 cm lowest height in Apartment B. Toilet heights to top of seat 43 cm (toilet seat raiser in both apartments to raise by a further 10 cm). Adequate space for hoist under all beds (except for sofa beds), there is also space for hoist under the conservatory daybeds.
