Venue Description
Scotland’s most forward thinking mainstream venue and arts provider, Dundee Rep Theatre sits at the cultural heart of Dundee as a centre of creative excellence. We aim to ensure that all visitors to Dundee Rep Theatre feel welcome.Accessibility
Our accessible door at the entrance to the theatre is 96cm wide. It is operated with a push button which is 95cm from the ground. A hearing loop is provided at the Box Office desk, and our café bar. Step free access is provided throughout our public spaces (foyer, Box Office, restaurant, café bar and toilets) and our auditorium. We have accessible seating inside the auditorium (seats D15-19 and D33-37 on our seating plan). These seats fold down and can be used by those who find stairs difficult, or folded up to allow space for a wheelchair. Please let Box Office staff know when making your booking if you require accessible seating. A wheelchair can be provided for the duration of your visit. Most seating in the auditorium is reached by stairs. There is a hand rail between rows D and G, and elsewhere there are handhold grips at the end of each row. The auditorium is entered at row D. There are 28 steps up to row P which is the back row of the auditorium. There are 3 steps down to row A at the front. There is no lift access in the auditorium. Seats in the auditorium are approximately 40cm wide. Inside the auditorium an infrared system can be used to enhance audio during most performances, or to provide audio description during specific performances. Equipment for this system can be collected from the Box Office during your visit, with an infrared option for those who use hearing aids and an in-ear option for those who do not.
