Dawlish is a main line train station and is on the main A379 bus route. The museum is located at the rear of the town and a short ,pleasant walk from the main seafront following the Dawlish Brook.

The museum is situated next to a large pay and display car park ( Barton Lane car park) at the rear of Dawlish itself.
