Venue Description
Our museum tells the fascinating story of the Yorkshire Dales and the people who have lived and worked here and shaped the landscape for thousands of years.Accessibility
Dales Countryside Museum is pushchair and wheelchair friendly, with wide aisles, lifts, ramps and a low-level information counter. There are RADAR facility toilets in the car park and fully accessible toilets in the Museum. Access is via a ramp from reception to the ground floor. There are also plenty of items to touch and sound recordings to listen to for visitors with a sensory impairment. Assistance dogs only are welcome in the museum. We also have a Changing Places toilet. It contains extra equipment and space to allow people with profound learning disabilities, as well as people with physical disabilities such as spinal injuries, muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis, to use the toilet safely and comfortably.
