Venue Description

The Corn Exchange is based in Newbury, West Berkshire, and features a 400 seat theatre auditorium, a 40 seat independent cinema and thriving Kitchen & Bar. From a fully accessible building to signed and audio-described performances, we are dedicated to making our venue and events accessible for everyone. All of our activities and workshops in the 'Get Involved' Programme are open to anyone to take part. Our age guides are just that, a guide, and if there are people outside those age brackets who might find the group more suited to their needs we can build a plan with those participants to enable their attendance. If you have any questions about whether our participatory activities might be suitable for you please contact our Learning and Participation Manager directly via getinvolved@cornexchangenew.co.uk to talk through your concerns or needs and we will do all we can to overcome any barriers to participation.

Accessibility

The Corn Exchange has a step-free entrance into the foyer, with lift access to all floors of the building, including the Balcony and Cinema.

Accessible Performances

Wheelchair seating areas are located near the exits on either side of the auditorium. While the stage view is good, this may mean that there may be a lot of people walking past. The recently refurbished foyer offers much more space, but there is a second bar upstairs if it gets crowded. We offer signed and live described performances in support of our hearing or visually impaired audiences. Relaxed screenings and performances are designed for audience members with a wide range of disabilities, or anyone who feels they would benefit from a more relaxed environment.
