Venue Description

Clydeshopmobility is a charity who aims to enable people to access shops, cafes, services and just generally get out of the house and be part of the community. It helps people with mobility problems or visual impairment to maintain their independence and to improve their lifestyle. We provide a range of mobility equipment from manual wheelchairs to motorised scooters. It also provides a “sighted guide” service and ‘partnership access’ to a service supporting people with hearing loss. We operate from Clydebank, Balloch and Alexandria.

Accessibility

Our shop is located on the ground floor, easily accessible. We have a main entrance automatic and a ramp to facilitate access to people with mobility disabilities.

Accessible Performances

We work in partnership with Action on Hearing Loss. They are expert in providing support for people with hearing loss and tintinnus. Action on Heraing Loss provides a service from our Clydebank premises on 3days per month. We also provide a sighted guide service. You will receive training to use our equipment.

Awards List

West Dunbartonshire Council provides support for Clyde Shopmobility. We also receive support from the West Dunbartonshire Change Fund, Comic Relief, The Lottery Awards for All Programme and the Voluntary Action Fund. We are working in partnership with Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park

Toilets

- a space for the disabled person and up to two carers - a centrally placed toilet with a large room

Staff

Our Staff is gentle and very kind. They welcome each person with grace and education. They are qualified persons. Our volunteers, together with our staff, are the hearth of our charity.
