Venue Description
The City Chambers is accessible through the main courtyard, with the entrance located at the rear of a quadrangle. The City Chambers is on the North side of the historic Royal Mile named the High Street, between North Bridge and George IV Bridge/Bank Street and directly opposite Parliament Square. Traffic is restricted on this section of the Royal Mile and if driving you should approach from the West, going downhill from George IV Bridge/Bank Street.
Although there are a couple of steps on the footpath, the road entrance is flat. While there are no steps as you enter the building on level 5, there is a small gutter. While most wheelchair users can navigate the gutter, the Events Team can arrange a ramp on request. (Tel. 01310 529 4478 or email eventsbooking@edinburgh.gov.uk in advance).
There are two lifts to access level 7 where the meeting rooms are located and one of these can accommodate the largest wheelchairs. All rooms have Wi-Fi access.
