Overview

Carluccio's is an Italian restaurant chain. We visited the branch at St Pancras International Station.

Transport & Parking

The restaurant is on the upper floor of St Pancras International Station, so there's is a step free tube station at King's Cross next door and several buses that serve the area. Alternatively you could visit by Eurostar.

Access

There are 2 seating areas. One is a fenced off area on the upper concourse and the entrance is a step free opening. This is where we sat and from there you have nice views of the station. There is a covered roof and heaters and in February when we visited it felt warm sitting here. There is also a inside seating area. Both areas have free standing tables and chairs and the entire restaurant is step free.

Toilets

Inside the restaurant there were signs for the ladies and gents toilets. When we visited there was a sign on the gents saying it was out of order. I went into the ladies cubicle and it was not accessible, see photo. I then spoke to the staff to see if there was an accessible toilet. The member of staff escorted me to a door next to the counter which said "staff only private". There was also a small wheelchair user symbol, see photo. The signage was poor. Going into the corridor it wasn't inviting or customer friendly as there were boxes and a trolley in the corridor. This also may be a safety hazard for some disabled people. The accessible toilet felt quite cramp as the baby changing table was folded down. There were grab rails and an emergency cord that reached towards the ground. However, the toilet felt a bit grubby and I wanted to get out as soon as possible.

Staff

Our waiter was extremely helpful and friendly. Food arrived quickly.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

We both liked the restaurant and our food. It's a convenient location to meet and we were able to relax over a late lunch. We agreed that we would be happy to return but both felt the toilets let the restaurant down as they not as clean as the rest of the restaurant.
