Overview

Peaceful location and good lodge but if you're looking for activities you'll possibly have to drive. McArdle is a lovely lodge but at top of a hill so could be challenging for less mobile or manual chairs. Good wet room and you can borrow a shower chair. No profiling bed and carpet in both bedrooms can make using hoists / standaids a bit harder than hard floors.

Transport & Parking

We used a transport service as the place is in the middle of Kielder forrest.

Access

The lodge is accessible. Level entry and the patio at the property is accessible via the french doors. We couldn't go too far as lodge at top of hill but if you have transport you could explore. We were happy with the short walk we could manage and relaxing at the lodge. Good wet room and you can borrow a shower chair.

Toilets

Lodge has a wet room with grab rails at loo. Access is via carpeted bedroom. We managed transfers with a sara stedy despite the carpet.

Staff

Didn't have much contact with staff but spoke to someone twice who was polite and friendly.
