Overview
Clean country park with varied terrain. All tracks are suitable for scooter/wheelchair if not a little bumpy at times. There are some gates which might be tricky if you are out and about on your own. Overall a lovely space with a great view of Pitsford Water.
Transport & Parking
There are disabled parking spaces close to the cafe - although there aren’t many. I haven’t had an issue when visiting on any given day.
Access
There is good access to the country park and cafe. It would be difficult for wheelchair users to mobilise around all of the children’s play area as it is on different levels which aren’t easily navigated. There are dirt, gravel, grass and tarmac tracks around various parts of the country park. There are benches frequently placed around the country park should someone need to stop and take a break. There is also an interesting sensory garden to visit. No alternative formats were available such as Braille, induction loop etc.
Toilets
Disabled loo is present but basic. No changing place or additional support available. It’s a basic facility that could do with a clean. There are hand rails and an alarm cord should the user face any difficulty.
Staff
Staff are pleasant enough in the cafe. I was welcome to use my mobility scooter and there was just enough room to do so. The cafe serves toasties, baguettes, wedges, cakes, ice cream etc.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Some of the tracks are covered with a large, rough gravel which isn’t particularly comfortable but it was certainly doable in my scooter.
