Brixworth Country Park
Brixworth Country Park, Brixworth, NN6 9DG, United Kingdom | 01604 889478 | WebsiteVenue Description
Northamptonshire County Council's newest Country Park developed with Millennium Commission funding, the park is a national showpiece for accessible countryside – providing access for all irrespective of physical or mental ability and social or cultural background. The park has hard tracks (some of which have been recently resurfaced) allowing wheelchair users to explore the majority of the areas of the park such as the woodland areas which are currently under a management plan to improve the species richness and diversity, meadows and ponds. The bird hide and sensory garden are all ramped to allow access for wheelchair users and disabled parking is available for blue badge holders.
Accessibility
Tarmac paths of varying distances run throughout the parks. Seats, picnic tables or resting points at every 200 metres and a path gradient of generally less than 1:20. Access to the childrens play area is also possible in a wheelchair and a ramp allows access to both the top and bottom parts of the play area. Plenty of disabled parking spaces for blue badge holders.
