Fun for all the family whatever the weather! Explore the largest collection of historic British cars in the newly refurbished Museum. Take a walk down the 'Time Road' and discover how both motoring and family life has changed through the decades including period music and memorable events such as the introduction of double yellow lines. Travel through 'Making British Cars' and see how influential the motor industry has been over the years and where it is heading in the future. Get 'Under The Skin' and unravel the mystery of how cars work with interactive exhibits. Experience how suspension has improved over time and compare the difference between rack and pin and power steering. Enjoy a free guided tour with one of the enthusiastic guides who will help bring the cars to life. There is also an onsite café serving hot and cold meals and snacks. Accessibility

We recognise that our visitors and online users have a variety of needs. We are committed to ensuring that our Museum and services as accessible as possible and work with various groups to monitor and improve. The museum has no steps or inclines with automatic doors, wide walkways and doorways suitable for wheelchairs /Motability scooters. There is a reduced height pay desk, plenty of seating around the building and lift access to the Café. Interpretation is a mix of audio and visual with hands on interactive points. - There is lift access to all floors and there are level floors within the Museum, Café and Collections Centre. - Accessible toilets can be found on all levels of the main building and downstairs in the Collections Centre. A Changing Places toilet can be found in the Museum Rotunda, equipped with a hoist, an adult-sized changing table, and plenty of space for carers. The toilet can be accessed with a Radar Key, please ask at the Museum Pay Desk if you need to borrow one. - Baby changing facilities are on the ground floor of the Museum. - Push along cars: swap your pushchairs for our push along cars located next to the Museum Pay Desk. - A limited number of wheelchairs are available free of charge from the Museum Pay Desk. If you require a wheelchair for your visit we recommend you contact us to check availability on 01926 895300 or email enquiries@britishmotormuseum.co.uk. We can then reserve the wheelchair once we have confirmation that you have purchased your ticket. Visitors are welcome to request a wheelchair upon arrival but we cannot guarantee one will always be available. - Guide or Assistance Dogs are welcome. - Portable Induction Loops are available from the Museum Pay Desk or Conference Reception. - Ear defenders are free and can be collected from the Family activity station - Quieter times - we are often quieter from 3pm–5pm on weekdays, if you would like to visit when there are fewer people around.

Toilets

There is a disabled toilet and baby changing facilities on the Museum level with wide doors, grab rails, a raised toilet seat, easy turn taps, and an emergency pull cord. There are 2 further disabled toilets outside the Café, one left handed and one right, with the same spec.

Staff

All Museum staff have completed the Disability Awareness & Etiquette training run by Wideaware and Dignity at Work training.
