This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair
Overview
On the main level of the museum, there is plenty of room to negotiate wheelchairs around the vehicles and there are lifts to the Mezzanine level and up to the restaurant/conference facilities levels. Shop, Restaurant and Cinema are all on flat.
Transport & Parking
On the flat, outside (so no height restrictions) of the main entrance to the Museum and around the side for Conference facilities.
Access
Two minor points that do not really impeded enjoyment of visit. Access into Lord Nuffield's Office is through an open doorway which may be tight for larger wheelchairs. Stairs only allow view from above of MG Speed Record cars but they can still be seen quite clearly from the floor of the museum as they are displayed 'tilted'.
Toilets
Disabled toilet is on restaurant level - accessible via Museum by the lifts.
Staff
Staff gave a friendly welcome at the Reception Desk. Restaurant staff are equally friendly and helpful - even carried tray to the table for us. Guide (Alan) on the Museum Tour was very respectful, entertaining and informative with some great little anecdotes - we have visited a number of times but saw new things and learnt a lot!
Anything else you wish to tell us?
If you get the chance and have the time, do go on a Museum Tour (no extra cost and approx. 45 minutes in length) - it is well worth it. All in all, a great day out!
