Venue Description

Beechenhill Farm, somewhere really lovely to stay in the Peak District National Park. On the farm we have the Cottage by the Pond an M3a rated accessible cottage which sleeps 6 in 3 rooms. Two rooms are on the ground floor, one is a twin room with two profiling beds, (one which can raise and lower), one can be a twin or superking thanks to our zip-n-link beds. The other room is upstairs and can also be arranged as a twin or superking. Beechenhill Farm is perched on the south facing hill above the picturesque village of Ilam on the Staffordshire, Derbyshire border within the Peak District National Park 5 miles north of Ashbourne. We are passionate about attention to detail, food, quality and customer service. Our mission is 'to please you, so that you return, in a way that pleases the planet and pleases us too'. We recently won a Visit England ROSE (Recognition Of Service Excellence) 2022 Award. Essentially, we have a relaxing and tranquil place to stay (with interesting things going on behind the scenes and wifi if you need it). We can accommodate you whether you are single, a couple, a family or a large group of up to 14 guests.

Accessibility

This cottage, equipped and furnished with care, was converted from the old milking barn and designed to be accessible to everybody, including those with wheelchairs. Children are most welcome. A cot and high chair are available and included in the price. The Cottage by the Pond sleeps six people in three rooms. Two rooms are on the ground floor, one is a twin room with two profiling beds, (one which can raise and lower too), the other can be a twin or superking thanks to our zip-n-link beds. The other room is up a small staircase, nestled in the rafters, and can also be arranged as a twin or superking. We have two bathrooms on the ground floor, the main bathroom is a large accessible wetroom with wheel-in shower, closomat toilet, sink with clearance underneath, low bath with space underneath for a hoist and plenty of rails. The other bathroom is a little 'Jack and Jill' ensuite shower room that can be accessed from each downstairs bedroom. We have various equipment that you can borrow from us: shower chair, commode, wheelchair, highchair, cot, bed raisers, toilet seat raiser, bed sides, and a hoist to hire (please bring your own straps).

Toilets

Large Bathroom: Non-slip floor, non-slip, shallow bath, rim 445mm high. Closomat toilet seat 445mm high, left hand transfer, pull down hand rails both sides. Flat floor shower, mobile shower chair available on request. Lots of fresh towels included as are toilet rolls. Nearest changing places toilet at Ilam Park 1 mile away.

We are always available to help, we live just across the yard in the main farmhouse.
