Venue Description

Portobello Beach Wheelchairs has 1 powered all terrain wheelchair and 4 manual beach wheelchairs as well as a hoist available all for free hire. Hires are managed by volunteers and should be pre-booked. Booking can be done via 0300 666 09990 or via Facebook messenger. The range of equipment is fantastic and allows people to spend time on the beach together with friends and family, enjoy a walk, a paddle or a picnic.

Accessibility

The prom is accessible and the wheelchairs are designed to get on the beach

Toilets

There are nearby public toilets. They are in bad condition and in particular the accessible toilet is very poor with difficult access into the building. There is a disabled toilet in nearby Tumbles that can also be used through the 'Just can't wait scheme'.
