Overview

I am a mobility scooter user so all the upstairs of the castle was inaccessible for me but the staff ushered me into the main hall and gave me a wonderful book of photos of the upstairs. I was also escorted to the "Royal" toilets on the ground floor. The car park attendants sent me to park right up by the castle entrance, Couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful.

Transport & Parking

I was sent to park at the top of the steep hill, right by the castle entrance.

Access

Ground floor entry is by a narrow door and tiny hallway with a 90 degree turn. they thought my scooter wouldn't manage to get in but it did with ease. A big scooter wouldn't manage but quite honestly, even if you can't get inside, its' worth it for the views alone

Toilets

Ground floor toilets available but not used for the general public.

Staff

Couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. They brought me a huge book of photos so I could see what was upstairs even though I couldn't get here and would have sat with me telling the history of the place if i hadn't already known it.
