Avon Tyrrell is UK Youth’s outdoor centre in the New Forest National Park providing outdoor learning programmes and personal development opportunities for young people to experience, learn and develop. As outdoor learning professionals with over 70 years experience, we provide a stimulating locality with a unique heritage and passionate staff, dedicated to supporting young people develop core life skills such as; belief, courage, resilience and leadership, working together to build brighter futures. We are committed to being a fully accessible centre and strive to give everyone the same opportunities to experience, learn and develop through adventure and discovery. We understand the needs are different for everyone and for this reason we have specialised staff who are passionate about inclusion to ensure we can discuss your needs and understand how we can best accommodate them. If you have additional needs, there should be no holding you back. Our professional and friendly staff deliver high quality support in a safe, accessible environment. The site itself is accessible, and we offer all the facilities and additional equipment to assist our guests as needed. - A hoist for the outdoor swimming pool and lakes - Lift in the main house - Wet rooms for showering - Ramps for access - One lodge has a ceiling hoist - Activity stations have hoists - All terrain wheelchairs - 3 portable hoists of different sizes/weight limits - Shower Chairs - Changing/Shower bed - Bed sides (Limited availability) - Specially adapted bikes - Disability buggies to take people from activity to activity - Adapted Golf buggy for wheelchair users

Toilets
Our toilets are currently being renovated to ensure they are fully accessible for wheelchair users with ramps where needed, wide doors and support for wheelchair and disabled access. We can also provide access to a changing bed if notified in advance.
Staff
Avon Tyrrell holds special events and weekends with regular visits from families, groups and schools with disabilities. Our staff have been on a variety of training courses, including safeguarding children with disabilities giving us the experience and expertise that we need to ensure you and your family feel safe and supported throughout your stay on site. Our staff members are also fully trained and qualified to use any additional equipment that maybe needed for disability groups.
