Overview
I am a wheelchair user and had my birthday party. We did canoeing. It was great fun. They have a kayak with stabilisers which I could use and my friends and family where in other kayaks and canoes. We learnt some basics skills and then when for a river trip. The centre is completely accessible, I could even get upstairs to make myself a cup of tea. Considering it is an old dutch barn they have adapted it really well. I noticed they have an accessible wetroom , toilet and a changing table and hoist. I really loved their attitude, they were very friendly and didn't treat me any differently. They took my lead but supported me getting in and out of the kayak which was really nice. I really recommend this.
Transport & Parking
There are 2 disable parking spaces beside the centre and the bus route drops you on the main road beside it. soon the metro bus will come along this road.
Access
Accessible centre - ramps & lifts. Hoist to get in boats, canoes. Ramp to get the water edge. Photo signs of all of the room, apparently they have symbols for non-verbal sailors and accessible information leaflet and videos on youtube to show what to expect disabled toilet wet room with shower chair & changing table and overhead hoist. Push button front door
Toilets
There is no overhead hoist though they have a mobile hoist upstairs. Contrast toilet seat and sink for visually impaired customers. Hand rail and reasonable room
Staff
Friendly, very knoweldgable. Have clearly worked with a range of different disabilities. Very welcoming
