Venue Description

We are an accessible watersports centre who works to remove all barriers to watersports and provide 'watersports for all'. Whether you experience financial, physical, emotional, geographical, or circumstantial barriers we will try to remove any barriers, allowing everyone to access the benefits of watersports, so that they can learn new skills and empower themselves to achieve their goals. We are a fully accessible centre, which delivers closed disability sessions in addition to support disabled sailors into mainstream sessions. Accessibility

Our centre is fully accessible. We have ramps and lifts to access all areas of the centre. We have a disabled toilet and a disabled showroom (with hoist and shower bed and a shower chair). We have hoists to help you in and out of the sailing boats and Powerboats which has a ramp to allow wheelchair users to come aboard. We have given our instructors and volunteers communication training . we have symbols and signs for non-verbal sailors to access, visual timetables, and social stories and accessible information timelines to outline what to expect. We also have a Youtube channel which shows our centre and the boats we use, in addition to showing how we run the sessions and what to expect.

Toilets

We have grab rails in our toilet and removable hoist if you need one and a changing table and overhead hoist in our shower room. There are pull cords in our toilet and shower room to alert us if you need assistance.
