This National Trust cottage can be found on the coastal road between Wells and Brancaster and is part of a watermill conversion made up of seven apartments. This open-plan apartment is on the ground floor and has an adapted shower room for wheelchair users.
“It has level access and good circulation throughout apart from the twin room. It has a wetroom shower with seat. It is an ideal and comfortable base for walkers, birdwatchers or those looking for a tranquil, relaxing break.”
Lower Barns Boutique B&B, St Ewe

Hidden in South Cornwall is Lower Barns Boutique B&B, a charmingly colourful retreat close to the sea, the Eden Project, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. One self-contained wing, The Hayloft Hangout, has been adapted for wheelchair users and includes parking immediately outside, a wide ramp to the front door, grab rails in the wet room, and ramp access to the dining room in the main house. There’s also an adjoining twin room on the first floor if you’re travelling with family or friends!

You’ll find this hidden gem in a village with white sandy beaches, a marina and traditional harbour, and a coastal path to Burghead which has been described as wheelchair accessible. You might even spot a dolphin! The Anne-Elaine Suite may be attached to a house, but it is self-contained accommodation and self-catered making it the ultimate little hideaway in Hopeman.

Part of a collection of luxury cottages and houses, Wheatlands Cottage has been designed to be wheelchair accessible. You’ll find the cottages on Burradon Farm, a working farm close to the Northmbrian coastline; but they’re also near the lively Newcastle Gateshead if you feel like heading into the city!
“Inside Wheatlands floors are all hard and easy to walk or wheel on. There are a few rugs in the sitting room and main bedroom but they’re easily avoided. The main bedroom has a super wet room. Doorways are wide.”
The Captain’s Quarter, Truro
(Sleeps 2)
You can stay in a cottage that used to be an officer’s quarters until 1945! The pretty self-catered accommodation has panoramic views across Falmouth Bay making it a great spot for wildlife-spotters. The Captain’s Quarter is listed on Euan’s Guide saying:
“The cottage has level access throughout. The bathroom has a bath (portable bath seat provided), wet room shower with two drop down support rails and wc with two drop down support rails.”
