Overview

Access to the Restaurant was not ideal. The staff were a little off hand. The food was good and the speed of service was excellent.

Transport & Parking

Blue badge parking is in the main car park next to the public toilets. Once parked you have to walk through the car park and turn left until you see the rear entrance to Zittos. You then cross an area covered with large gravel. Not ideal for wheelchairs. The rear entrance is clearly marked. This leads into the lower dining area.

Access

You need a carer to open the door. Then the carer has to attract the attention of the staff who may be serving other customers in the main dining area, at the front of the Restaurant.

Toilets

Large toilet. Well appointed and clean. You have to be pushed in and then pulled out as there is no room to maneuver.

Staff

Drinks order taken promptly and served soon after. Food order taken shortly after drinks arrived. Food arrived quite quickly. It was noticeable that no staff came to enquire how we were enjoying the meal. The two staff were fully employed in the main dining area. The disabled friendly section was desserted apart from my carer and myself which made us feel a little neglected. Staff were however friendly when you did see them. Things could well be different on a busier day. No background music meant there was no atmosphere.

The menu is interesting and extensive. There will be something for everyone. My starter was Manicotti. Crepes filled with spinach and ricotta cheese, baked and topped with tomato sauce and buffalo mozzarella. I didn't have a main course because I know how large the starters can be and this was no exception. My dessert was Coppa Rossa. Mascarpone ice-cream on a biscuit base with raspberry and blackcurrant sauce, sprinkled with white chocolate chips. Both starter and dessert were excellent and in some way made up for the lack of interest in how our experience was.
