Overview
We were very excited to visit the museum as a family with four dinosaur fanatic children. The museum which is set up in a very small space (more like a shop) was difficult to negotiate with a wheelchair buggy, however my son was very happy to be there and we made do, it was very busy, with lots of other excited (and noisy) families. My son who is a wheelchair user, was making lots of excited sounds in the museum (He has hearing & visual impairment, ASD and severe Learning difficulty) and we were all deciding which fossils to purchase to remember the day. Sadly, the shop owner kept looking at my son and tutting (despite many other children in the shop equally as noisy), and after a few minutes of this, asked him to leave as my son was being noisy, when i tried to explained that he couldn't help making exciting noises and asking repetitive questions to us about the fossils; that he was a big fan, and that he has additional needs, the owner made some offensive comments (which i will not reiterate) to the customers he was serving and asked us to just leave! This was very upsetting to us all, especially my son as he didn't (thankfully) understand what had happened, he just really wanted a fossil, we couldn't explain to him why we had to leave. My principles got the better of me and i refused to go back in alone with my other children and my son's pocket money and purchase anything!!

we were very upset about the situation and have never experienced such disregard before, my son was as well behaved as another child there. the only difference being his repetitive questions and disability.
