Hectic History at York Castle Museum
Visit date:
Overview
A great family day out with good accessibility information and inclusion
Transport & Parking
Parking for blue badge holders is free and on the road right outside the main entrance (not signposted). There are disabled parking spaces in the car park which is a 2-3 minute walk.
Access
There is loads more information on this on my blog post. The only reason I haven't given this full marks is because there are no lifts for the first half of the tour, but this is clearly stated on the accessibility guide. It'ok if you have some mobility skills and can use stairs, there are plenty of places available to rest, but you are likely to tire as there is lots to see! The second half of the tour has a lift.
Toilets
Did not use this sorry!
Staff
The staff on reception were really helpful and gave lots of information on parking and accessibility
