Overview
The oldest(allegedly) pub in York. Wood floors, oak beams, nooks and crannies, full of history and character. Wheelchair accessible. 1 low (about 2 inches) step to get inside. Ramped access to disabled loo. Good food and great staff. All dogs very welcome
Transport & Parking
No parking, city centre location in pedestrian only area
Access
Very low(about 2 inch) step to enter. Once inside good disabled access to all apart from 1 small room. Easy ramp to disabled loo. Very old building with preservation order, so anything larger than a standard hand wheelchair would struggle to get to loo. Otherwise good access
Toilets
Shoehorned into small area but big enough for standard hand wheelchair. Access by gradual easy ramp, tight right then tight left turn at top. Unsuitable for mobility scooters
Staff
Very helpful and friendly. Nothing too much trouble
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Disabled loo had emergency cord tied up two weeks ago. We left a Euans guide card attached to the cord after freeing it, it was still there today! Cord still free Will visit again
