Overview

the wyvern theatre has nearly daily shows throughout the year and working in a care home for adults with physical disabilities aged 18? i book tickets in bulk, there is 4 seats in the front row for the complementary carer tickets and each wheelchair user sits next to the carer, there is also room for 2 more wheelchair uses in the box upstairs, we have seen pantos, live music, dramas, school plays, ice shows , circus acts, and 60s, 70s, and 80s music and magicians, comedians, our residents have always been made welcome, the only downside if a resident wants to buy souvenir or mementos it is upstairs and i have to go there to get them, but if the audience stands and dances they are not in front of our residents and they can still see, this can not be sid in all theatres

Transport & Parking

we always take a work vehicle that is a transit van for 3 or 4 residents in wheelchairs, and there is parking out the back right next to the easily accessible entrance, the theatre has its own car park which needs to be paid for in the day and evening otherwise it is a 15 min walk from the train and bus station

Access

Toilets

very clean accessable loo, could do with 2 because of the 20 minute recess in the middle of the show, there is no hoist but plenty of room to manouver a stand aid if need be, the only problem is that people without disabilities seem to use it instead of going to the loo upstairs

Staff

our residents have always been made very welcome and we even have regular people who know some of our residents by name

would definitely recommend it to other people, and there is tea and coffee and a bar, and chocolate and sandwiches, otherwise behind the back entrance is a brilliant all you can eat Chinese buffet called the banquet which is very accessible as well
