Overview
Really good place to visit in a wheelchair. Easy access , good trails , accessible hides and observatory . Plenty to see and do. An opportunity not just to see wildlife kept at the centre but able to spot wildlife in their natural habitat via the many accessible hides and get round in the great outdoors on accessible trails.Good for all ages and being in a wheelchair doesn't stop you getting close to the action.Good food and drink available in the excellent cafe , which like everything else is easily accessible. Admission concessions for disabled and their carer.
Transport & Parking
Plenty of disabled parking. As far as I am aware - there is no public transport to the site. There is parking for coaches as well as cars.
Access
easy route in , long ramps to access the different levels and lifts to the observatory. Automatic opening doors made entry really easy and masses of space in reception area. The visitor centre was busy on the day we went , but still felt there was lots of room for wheelchairs and didn't once feel I was an obstruction!
Toilets
Not rated as didn't use them, but I suspect they are likely to be good. Apparently 6 disabled facility loos around the site
Staff
very friendly and helpful
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Lovely to be able to spend time in the great outdoors on really accessible paths , enjoy the resident wildlife but also spot many different species in the wild from the accessible hides. Really enjoyable whether adult or child , able bodied or disabled. Something that everyone can do together with no distinctions between capabilities.
