Overview

Brilliant day out for my little girl who is a bit obsessed with flamingos. It’s a large site, with a variety of different wetland areas and a LOT of birds. Very nice for a peaceful walk round, we have an annual membership so visit regularly, but there’s always something slightly different. You can feed most of the ducks (when there’s no bird flu restrictions) All very flat, most of the paths are smooth and easy to travel along. Some gates between areas, most are easy to push open but a few are quite heavy. One of the big hides has low windows you can see out of from a wheelchair - but not all of them do, despite ramps up get inside?! Some areas have fences but they don’t obscure your view when seated. Plenty of benches if you need to have a rest while looking round. Ceiling Track and changing bed in the main building. Pretty good ‘accessible’ toilet in the cafe Lots of kids activities. Boat ride is wheelchair accessible but we haven’t tried this yet. Cafe is very expensive, only downside we found. Carers can get in free.

Transport & Parking

4.5

I think you have to go by car, looked into train but the local station is pretty inaccessible and it’s miles from anywhere so guessing no buses? Row of accessible parking spaces by the main entrance. Free car parking, reasonable surface.
