Overview
Good path for wheelchairs, just a little bumpy in places. Better in dry weather as there are potentially a few muddy sections. Help may be needed on a couple of short slopes (level changes at two of the locks) unless you are power assisted. We did this Drungewick acquaduct to pub/canal centre then back again - about an hour in each direction at a steady walking pace. Accessible loo in both pub and canal centre. Walk could be reversed if preferred. Informal roadside parking in Drungewick Lane near start or at pub/canal centre if starting at other end. Beautiful section of canal. Swans, ducks and fish. Nice countryside views along the way. Pub serves food all day (see separate review).
Transport & Parking
Parking is informal by roadside in Drungewick Lane near small bridge over canal. Though not a busy road, take care due to narrowness of road and proximity to bridge. To reverse walk access car park for Onslow Arms, Loxwood- overflow car park is behind canal centre. No disabled bays.
Access
Good path on compacted earth. Slope at aqueduct plus at two locks. My power trike coped fine but manual chairs may need extra assistance. A couple of tree roots in a few sections, a few uneven parts and possibility of mud after rain but good path overall. We started at Drungewick Lane bridge over canal (photo shows gate access and short, sloping access to towpath). Walk to canal centre and pub (Onslow Arms - serves food all day- see separate review) takes about an hour each way at steady walking pace. Lovely day out.
Toilets
Great disabled loo outside canal centre, radar key operated. Pub also has one but not so nice.
