Overview
The gardens have steep access from Princes street, but you can enter via the lifts within the National Gallery and the Academy. These take you to the Garden Café and out to the gardens. Much less hassle.
Transport & Parking
From out of town , we park at Ingleston and get the wheelchair accessible tram into the city; the Princes Street stop isn't far from the National Gallery.
Access
It isn't generally appreciated that you can access the gardens from the lifts in the Gallery and the Academy down to the Garden Café then into the gardens themselves. So much easier than other routes especially for tourists who might struggle to find Kings Stables entrance.
Toilets
Available in the Gallery and the Academy.
Staff
On our visit Gallery and Academy staff were very helpful
Anything else you wish to tell us?
It would be a shame to miss out on the gardens because of the poor ramped access from Princes Street , uses these lifts for a hassle free experience.
