Overview
Reasonably accessible gym and pool with disabled loos and an accessible changing place for swimming.
Transport & Parking
There is free disabled parking outside of gym. I came from Derby and the bus stop was located quite a walk away from the gym across a busy road.
Access
All the doors are either open or can be opened electrically via a button (the gym you have to scan your card). There is a small lift up to the gym and an emergency evaluation ski-pad slide sheet. The gym has one hand bike. There are cable machines you could use from a wheelchair. Most machines require a transfer. The machines are ergonomic with contrasting colours to indicate where the adaptable features are. There is limited transfer space to some machines so if you need to have your chair right next to the seat you may struggle. Signs were in a large clear font. Carer ticket available.
Toilets
The toilet in the reception area is small so would be a squeeze if you need a carer. From what I've seen so far they do not have a changing places toilet but I'll update if I find a hidden one. Grab rails were white and around toilet and sink. The reception desk has a lowered wheelchair accessible counter.
Staff
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I have yet to access the pool but there is a pool hoist and a chair lift up to viewing area. I haven't looked at the swimming pool changing room yet. I didn't see a gym changing room.
