Disabled for Wembley
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair
Overview
Wembley has a lot of stairs to reach the turn stiles however there is a ramp area again going up would be hard if your in a manually wheelchair there is a lift which will hold 2 wheelchairs and a steward on the life to help assist where needed. there is disabled toilets located at a few of the stiles that i noticed however it is uncomfortable for a women as they are with the male toilet entrances so awaiting for it to become free can be unsettling if you are a women as you are waiting close to the male toilets. Getting into the stadium is slow. however there are more toilets for disabled users the wheelchair spaces in the stadium are great. you are on a platform as such which mean even with away fans at football matches standing up you can still see the pitch perfectly
Transport & Parking
I travelled on Coach so couldnt comment on the parking
Access
there was slight signs but it was not easy to find. however stewards where more then happy to help
Toilets
Outside stadium there are toilets however can be uncomfortable as they are located very close to the male toilets entrance so a women can be very uncomfortable - i am not sure if there was any near ladies entrance but the ones i can across was near the mens inside however there was 2 near my entrance however they was a little walk from the turn stiles entrance
Staff
the staff were very helpful with all needs that i came across during my visit
Anything else you wish to tell us?
turn stiles entrances for wheelchair users take a while due to Security measures. Plastic bottles are not allowed in to the stadium unless they are for medical reasons and bags are checked. when going into the stadium via the disabled entrances you are in a door then checked before going though another door then you are stopped for bag search, most of the staff were very relaxed and very helpful and unlike some places i go in my wheelchair they acknowledged me and my career rather then just my career
