Overview
Waterstones Piccadilly is the flagship store of the book store chain. It's a large shop spread over several floors accessible by lifts and has in the basement and on top floor cafes. There are disabled toilets.
Transport & Parking
The shop is on Piccadilly and is near to Piccadilly Circus and Green Park tube stations and several buses run along the street. I travelled on public transport and the bus stop is next door to the shop.
Access
At the main entrance on Piccadilly there is a short flight of stairs down into the main shop. Next to this is a platform lift. I had used it previously and found it to be jerky to use. On my most recent visit I decided to go down the stairs as it has a hand rail, in preference to using the lift. I'm mindful that not everyone will have a choice so it would be appreciated if the lift could be upgraded. There are lifts to all floors, but sometimes they take a while to arrive.
Toilets
There is a disabled access toilet. I didn't use it on this occasion.
Staff
Staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I went to attend an events The Haunted Library and I asked where it was being held and a member of staff took me there.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
This is a very popular and busy book store and I found walking with a crutch that the aisles are extremely narrow and it makes it a bit awkward to walk from one side of the store to the other. There is also an entrance on Jermyn Street but I didn't use it so can't comment.
