Overview
We spent the full day here,, watching the trebuchet and jousting shows, which my companion gave me audio description of, although the voice over and noises/sound effects were great. My guide dog loved watching the horses too. The exhibits are really interesting and it was so lovely to walk into the Great Hall and be offerred a touch tour, which was my day highlight. THey allowed me to touch statues of armerred hourses and a range of helmets and weapons used throughout time. The tour was dynamic and they were happy to show me whatever i was interested in, if that were possible. The King Maker exibit was less tactile but had lots of noises and smells. They do also turn off the sound effects for those with conditions it may overwelm for a period in the day too. I did pay extra to do the dungen activity, admittedly booking it spontainiously online without knowing what it was and there was some confusion, but guide dogs were not allowed in this event and staff could not hold them. It wasn't a problem and appropraite for the dogs welfare, but wanted to flag this wasn't made clear at purchase, so be aware. On balance a fabulous day
Transport & Parking
We walked as staying in Warwick, but there is plenty of parking and lots of details on the website for all needs.
Access
The majority of the castle is accessible to all. There is a lift to enable wheelchair users to get onto the walls for example. I took my guide dog up to the top of the tallest tower and whilst spiral stairs are hard there were good handles and my dog was good.
Toilets
These were available and whilst I did not go to them, we saw them around
Staff
Every member of staff we met were extremely helpful and supportive. We were actually approached to offer the touch tour of the Great Hall for example. I really got the feeling that I could ask for anything to enhance my experience and they would have done what they could to make that happen for me.
