A surprisingly accessible busy restaurant
Visit date:
Overview
Wahaca is conveniently located on the outside of St David’s Dewi Sant shopping centre. It is a modern building and the restaurant is spread over three floors. People tend to be seated on the ground floor but there is a lift to all levels and all the toilets are located on the top floor. It is a busy restaurant and the tables can be quite close together, but I believe that the tables and chairs could be moved if needed.
Transport & Parking
The restaurant is in Cardiff's city centre and close to Cardiff Central train station. The shopping centre also has its own car park.
Access
Level access at the entrance and lift is on your left as you walk in. I've taken off a mark because of how close together some of the tables are and because the accessible toilet is located on the top floor.
Toilets
The accessible toilet was quite stylish and very clean. It loses a mark because there was no red emergency cord. One of the bins may also be slightly in the way for someone using the transfer space.
Staff
Staff were really friendly when we were there. The service was very prompt.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
The food was very nice. You can either order a selection of small dishes or a larger dish. It arrives when it is ready so you might not get things when you are expecting them. We went for a selection of the smaller dishes. The staff are also good at checking if you have any allergies or dietary requirements.
