Overview
Vue Cinema HALIFAX...I visit here regularly with a carer. The access is great and a lift takes you up to the booking foyer, where you will then be taken to the screen of your choice. I recommend seeing films in screens 1 - 4, as there you get taken to an upper floor, with a viewing box, like a royal box in a theatre. These screens have seating for 1 or 2 carers and 1 or 2 wheelchair spaces. There is also an accessible toilet on the upper floor. Should you wish to see a film showing in screens 5 - 9, you will have to sit at the front of the screen. I find this too close and much prefer to sit in the `royal boxes`! I use my CEA card which entitles my carer to a complimentary ticket. Tickets for every age is just £4.99
Transport & Parking
The cinema does not have it`s own car park, but there is a multi-storey car park in the same complex. I believe holders of blue badges do have to pay to park, therefore I prefer to park for free on an adjacent street. The bus station is a slightly uphill 5 minute wheel away and the train station is an uphill 10-15 minute wheel away.
Access
The approach to the cinema is over flat ground, with wide access automatic doors. There is a lift and an escalator to the booking foyer.
Toilets
Accessible toilets are on both levels to screens 1 - 4 and to screens 5 - 9. They are a bit tight for a carer to join you, but it is possible. No Changing Places toilets. They are usually kept clean.
Staff
All staff are friendly and helpful. You need one of them to operate the lift to enable you to access screens 1 - 4. This has never been a problem.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
It can sometimes feel a bit chilly in all screens, so I take a knee blanket.
