Overview
This accessible tearoom serves lovely lunches and light snacks. It's fairly level from the parking spaces that are situated right alongside. There's an accessible loo round the back. You may need to drive here as it's a bit out of the way.. However theres a bus stop only 20 from the main car park entrance so buses do come here. There's a gift shop on site (next door). The site is home to the art gallery but you can visit the tearoom and/or shop independent of the gallery.
Transport & Parking
There are three disabled spaces in the car park, closest to the tear room. These are clearly marked. We drove but apparently buses pass here as there's a bus stop virtually outside. I've taken off half a star only because the car park is gravel and some may find that a bit hard to walk or wheel on, but it's not deep gravel and it's not very far across the car park from the disabled spaces.
Access
There were no steps at the entrance , just a small threshold which was easily negotiated. The path to the main entrance was brick and nice and level (just a very gentle slope at the car park end of it but nothing too severe). Apparently to get from the main eating area inside directly to the outside eating area and loos, there's a small step. However there's an alternative route round the side, which is level (albeit not so great for visiting the loo if it's raining!). Inside, the circulation space was a bit limited as the space was full of table and chairs. Stowing my wheelchair was a bit tricky, though the staff when asked said they had somewhere else they could take it.
Toilets
Loo was round the back outside but through a lobby. If there was signage, I didn't see it. The separate assisted loo is well equipped. Only negatives are that you have to go outside to reach it and pass through a lobby (extra doors to negotiate).
Staff
Staff noticed me approaching in a wheelchair and quickly came to open the main door. They were helpful and considerate re the wheelchair.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Lovely and reasonably priced lunches and cakes. Nice surroundings. We will visit again!
